PRODUCT INFO

What materials are used in creating LEKTRIK lanterns?
We use high quality delicate silk to form the exterior of the lantern. We use steel rods for the interior, LED bulbs, and a special adhesive to bind the silk to the interior rods. Everything created is handcrafted and custom made lantern art.
How long does it take to make a lantern?
It depends on the size, how many sets, complexity, and design. If it’s for a large scale exhibition, it could take as long as 7-9 months, including the designing process, materials purchasing, factory fabrication, container shipping, and installation.
How many lanterns do you have or how many can you produce?
Unlimited. We have a very large group of skilled artisans, and constantly hiring in order to continue our production expansion model. Every year, we gain more projects; meanwhile retaining our existing clients. Hence, we constantly hire, and never experience a time where we are unable to produce. We keep up with the market, we retain our existing clients, and we constantly gain more clients. We are able to produce unlimited supply of lanterns, at any time. Since everything is custom designed and produced, we do need enough time for production and shipping. We receive phone calls and emails constantly asking for lanterns for a festival they are having in 30 days; and unfortunately, that’s not how it works; it must be prepared and organized well in advance. You cannot produce an award winning holiday lights program 30 days before your event begins.
Can LEKTRIK produce any type of lantern?
Yes, we can. Our design team is made up of expert designers, with substantial experience. We will only operate with the best designers, and we can even produce a lantern based on receiving 1 photo or image. We can simply design based on an image, and replicate it, into a lantern. There is nothing we can’t do.
Can LEKTRIK create lanterns that move? or any automated or mechanical lanterns?
Yes, we can also create lanterns that move. Some are automated, some can change colors, and some can be created with special effects, such as smoke/mist. We can produce anything in your wildest dreams. We are always ready for the next challenge.
Do LEKTRIK Chinese Lanterns cause fires?
No, they do not cause or catch on fire. They are only operating with LED bulbs. The product does not contain any type of fire, and they are not the ‘lanterns’ you are thinking of. Again, this is an LED lamp, not an actual lantern with a flame.
Are LEKTRIK Chinese Lanterns bad for the environment? Do they cause pollution?
No, they do not cause pollution and they are environmentally safe. We use LED bulbs, and we recycle any excess materials. When our exhibitions are complete, we break them down, and fortunately, since we are a US based company, we have a storage/factory facility locally inside the USA, where we transport all of our materials. Our Chinese Lanterns do not cause pollution either. You are thinking of the flying paper lanterns and/or floating water paper lanterns. We do not produce those; and yes, those do cause substantial pollution and waste. Again, our lanterns are silk lanterns that illuminate using LED bulbs; created for permanent or long-term usage, recycled, recreated, or maintained/refreshed.
We saw a Chinese Lantern Festival in another city. Is this your festival? Are they the same company or same product?
Unfortunately, even though we were the international originals, there are other smaller groups that are trying to imitate our exhibitions. They are not the same, and their lanterns are definitely not the same either. We invest substantially inside our design, materials, and quality. We also focus more on ethics, and environment. We did take notice that these other smaller groups try to use names and slogans similar to ours, and even tried to claim some of our previous exhibitions to land partnerships worldwide. This is one reason why we had to trademark our brand name and slogans worldwide. Their models are based strictly on profit, using low quality materials, low quality designs, cookie-cutter designs, low wage staff, and ultimately reducing the value of authentic Chinese Lanterns. If you care about the art, then, please join LEKTRIK and help us to continue to build our brand and image worldwide. We know our product is superior, highest quality, authentic lantern art, and the original overseas lantern arts exhibition.

PURCHASING INFORMATION

How can our location obtain lanterns from LEKTRIK?
Absolutely, the best way to obtain lanterns is through a partnership model, as it’s substantially more beneficial for our beloved partners and clients worldwide. We do purchase options, but definitely not the best option for any location. Yes, we do want to sell lanterns, and we don’t mind, but we are a very honest and direct company; lanterns are very delicate, and there is high probability for damage during transit, no matter how well it’s packed. Lantern Art is also very expensive, as each individual lantern is handcrafted. Keep in mind, that this delicate artwork is also being showcased outdoors, and enduring all sorts of weather conditions that will require constant maintenance, and wear/tear; hence, the life or duration of a silk lantern is limited. Partnership option is the best option, as LEKTRIK will require no upfront fee, and will create a superior, high quality, holiday lights experience for your location, at no cost to you. There is a ticket revenue share through a very reasonable and fair partnership model. We also deploy an expert team of artisans and electricians to your site, to complete the entire installation, and conduct maintenance during the exhibition, from start to finish. If you do encounter a lantern company that claims their lanterns will last forever or extended period of time, please be aware there is no such thing 🙂
What is your return policy?
We do accept returns, within 10 days after receiving the product. However, since everything is customized, the buyer is responsible for shipping cost of returned goods, as well as a 30% restocking fee, as the lanterns will experience damage during transit, and will not be returned in its original condition. Further, the lanterns we create are also custom made per unique client/location, and would have to be resold as is or broken down to form another lantern. Hope you understand.
Can I purchase 1 lantern from LEKTRIK?
No. The cost of producing one lantern is substantial, and the shipping, billing, and logistics involved would not be able to work. We can only accept bulk purchases or large scale exhibition partnerships. If you do find a lantern producer who claims they will sell you 1 lantern, buyer beware. I can assure you, it is a returned item, used item, or incredibly poor quality.
How much do Chinese Lanterns cost?
That is a very difficult question, as LEKTRIK lanterns are custom designed and custom produced. Therefore, it really depends on the size, materials, complexity, number of units, packing, and shipping. Standard Chinese Lanterns, with silk exterior, and LED bulbs are normally created in sets. A set or scene, can vary in size and number of units; but if you take an average set, using life like sized animals with grass, trees, flowers, and other background elements, with approximately 3-5 animals, and additional elements, in range of 20-30 total pieces; that set could cost approximately $30,000 to $75,000 USD, without shipping.
Will LEKTRIK sell Chinese Lanterns if we purchase in bulk?
Yes, we will consider it and can easily make that happen. It’s not the best option to acquire lanterns. They need to be maintained; they are delicate, with silk exterior, and will always have minor to severe damage during transit. It’s inevitable. Just as long as you are fully aware, and understand that these are not permanent or long-term (you will need to have proper maintenance and skilled artisans to maintain them), then we are ok to sell lanterns. We will still try to convince you NOT to purchase them though. We do have compassion for our clients, and will not push this idea on anyone without properly educating our clients and partners. Best option is to simply cooperate with LEKTRIK, and do revenue share, as we are able to maintain them, produce them, and install them; along with issuing brand new lanterns every year. That is by far, the most intelligent way to obtain them.

MANUFACTURING

Could you describe the manufacturing process for LEKTRIK
Sure, all the magic begins with a sketch or design. Once the design is complete, we move toward packing/logistics. Packing/logistics before fabrication? Yes, that is correct. We need to think 10 steps ahead, and develop a packing strategy prior to fabrication. Our factory is located in the city of Zigong, in Sichuan Province of China. Our production staff is anxiously waiting for the next big project. Fabrication will proceed until the lanterns are semi-finished. The reason it’s semi-finished is because we have to consider packing into shipping containers. Some of our lanterns are 30-50 feet high, or even larger. Once the fabrication inside our factory is complete, we move to packing and shipping. Once the containers arrive to our destination, the containers are unloaded, and fabrication continues on-site, at the destination location. Once the on-site fabrication is complete, the lanterns are moved from the on-site production area to be positioned according to the design. Once positioned, our staff will secure it safely. Once secured, our electricians enable the ability for electricity to illuminate the LED Chinese Lanterns.
When producing Chinese Lanterns, does LEKTRIK consider the environment?
Yes, most definitely. We only use LED bulbs, all environmentally safe. We also reduce waste every year, and proud of what we accomplished. For example, some companies in our industry are known for large amounts of waste; however, we developed as a company, to reduce waste, by acquiring our own factory inside the USA. When our exhibitions are complete, we simply break down our exhibition and re-use materials. This is very helpful to the environment and always thinking about ways to consider the environment.

HISTORY

When were Chinese Lanterns invented?
Chinese Lanterns were initially developed over 2,000 years ago during the Han Dynasty.
When was LEKTRIK created?
LEKTRIK was created in 2018, after a consolidation of companies, production staff, and agents whom were located in the USA, Zigong, Chengdu, Shanghai, and Chongqing. Collectively, we created the brand name LEKTRIK. After other lantern companies tried to imitate our company, we trademarked our brand name in 2019 in the USA, and then filed our trademark in Europe and UK.
How was LEKTRIK created?
Initially, most of us worked for other companies within the Chinese Lantern Festival industry. Some of our members have been working inside the Chinese Lantern industry since childhood; many of their parents did the same; their parents parents, and so on. The lineage within our group is impressive and remarkable. Most of our staff are considered ‘the originals’, as we were the first to bring the official Chinese Lantern Festival outside China to the USA; and we are positioned strongly inside Europe and Worldwide. During that initial period, many of us were working with other smaller lantern companies, where many entities, agents, and investors were involved. Many of us were in communication with each other, and were able to locate all the flaws within the industry, ethics, standards, operations, procedures, etc; and we extracted the highest quality people, with highest standard of ethics, and formed our own company, called LEKTRIK. We realized that most of the investors and agents that were originally involved, were unnecessary components to the industry, formed obstacles, distracting, got in the way, reduced advancement, and were basically handicapped; within 12 months of operation, and the removal of investment partners and agents; we became one of the largest exporters of Chinese Lanterns out of China, and the largest worldwide operator of Chinese Lantern Festival and Holiday Lights festivals worldwide. We are proud of our company, and proud to be considered the most ethical Chinese Lantern Festival company worldwide.
